Still a lot of snow covering the descent to the lakes. I had to scramble to the ridgeline on the north side to get out. the hike up to the saddle from the shelter and the hike out from the lakes are grueling but it is absolutely beautiful from thensaddle and the bottom of the lakes.

One of my friends and myself did a small through hike up upper Dungeness trail to Charlia lakes camped out there then took Marmot Pass to Buckhorn lake and down tubal cain mine trail to cap the trip! There were AMAZING views! The fishing at the lake was incredible. Well worth the brutal hike up from Boulder shelter up to the lake!
