This is a walk, not a hike. The entire way is paved and there are multiple parts where you walk on the street or through parks and open field. It’s not really the “hike” I was expecting. You can easily wear workout gear versus hiking gear. Now, with that being said, it is a beautiful path. I believe it’s an old railroad line that they paved over like a smaller street. Great for strollers, kids, bikes, a run - all the above except if you’re looking for in the woods hiking. Tip: It was a little difficult finding the parking as Apple Maps takes you to a Boeing field instead of the beginning but if you use Google Maps you’ll find it.

Nice and peaceful walk along the river side. Plenty of small unpaved/ungraveled paths off to the sides to get closer to the water!

Only walked a short bit of it, but it’s a great walking trail. Saw a few bikers and roller skaters.

just a meander down to the river and checking out the waterway the river created due to the floods. Pretty amazing what the power of water can do.

Just out to get some items from the Dollar tree and Lowe's so we decided to take the bikes because it's such a beautiful day. The trail is closed at one section close to the dog park in Renton where they had a washout from the high waters. So we turned around and took the roadway 169 in town, but on the sidewalk.

I cycled 22 miles on this trail yesterday. It is paved and mostly flat. The trail follows the river and is surrounded by lots of foliage. The only downside is the part of the trail that runs alongside a busy road. I do not care to listen to traffic. Next time I intend to cycle the entire trail out and back. ~ Sherry

It’s a great trail, and there’s a gorgeous view of the lake at the end. The city does a super job of keeping it litter free. Be careful when going under bridges as I have been harassed by people who like to loiter there as I passed through.

This is one of my go-to trails. I like taking my dog here because it goes along the river and has a dog park/regular parks along the way too! Theres not too much elevation so its pretty easy, but long enough that you'll still get a decent cardio session. I wish it was a bit more scenic, but for a trail that goes through/along the city its pretty great!

I would recommend this trail to anyone who wants a leisurely urban hike, especially with your dog. Many walkers, bikers and runners. During the spring it is bursting with color. We went in February after about 6 inches of snow and it was a beautiful and safe retreat, as avy danger in the mountains was high. Look for Belted King Fishers along the Cedar River all year long. Typically in the fall through Jan/feb you will see bald eagles flying overhead looking for leftover salmon in the river bed.
