Great Trail for a short day hike with excellent scenery...in late summer the huckleberries are thick. This is a trail that has off shoots from the common shared Blue Lake Trail. The trail head parking lot has a quality outhouse facility. As with many upper elevation trails, late summer is a premium season for the hike due to the beautiful colors. Excellent view of Mt Baker in a few spots. The trail is very nice, not dangerous, but you will need to be in descent health or stop often for a breather many time :-) The drive to the parking lot is descent.

Our family and older couple enjoyed the hike into Blue Lake recently. Not too difficult but lots of roots. The view was spectacular and the lake setting was worth the effort. Another party had success with catch & release trout.

Great hike with stunning viewers of Mt Baker throughout and 360 panoramic views at the top of Shannon and Baker lakes.

Cool little late. Still iced over trail was mostly snow covered. We were able to get almost to the trailhead in our car

Parked 2 miles from the trail head due to snow covering the road in some portions. The hike up the road wasn't too bad because of the views you get of Baker Lake. Blue lake was frozen over 90 percent of the way. There was a beautiful waterfall flowing very heavy down the mountain into the lake that made the hike well worth it to trudge through the snow. Overall a good hike if you're adventurous.

Three starts for seasonal weather, great trail, tons of snow. Had to park 2.5 miles from trial head. Trail completely covered in up to 2 feet of snow. Not an easy hike in November. Great challenge and a ton of fun. Will hike again this summer. Pro tip: bring chains, snowshoes, and a GPS.

Great 360 views for not a long hike! Pretty shaded for the first mile and then pretty open meadows for the last. Took the gradual way up and the scramble down (much shorter and really not that difficult). Bugs at the top were pretty bad. Blue lake was a good detour at the end for the puppies to cool off.
