While All Trails lists this as an easy hike, I beg to differ. With the reverse elevation gain, it's pretty strenuous for those not in peak physical condition. This was my longest hike after two knee replacements, so the whole hike took me seven hours to complete. That said, it was gorgeous and I hiked it during peak wildflower blooms!

We started at sunrise and backpacked to Berkeley park. 4 miles. Set up camp and hiked to the end of grand park and back to camp. 7.24 miles round trip. It was late in the season so no other campers and barely saw any people. It was wonderful!
