over grown

Nice enough walk if not for the over growth and the sheer abundance of stinging nettle. Don’t wear shorts unless you have knee socks. Needs to be cut down in order to be enjoyed.

The trail is short due to the bridge at the Beaver Pond being busted. Lots of over growth, but a fun easy hike with dogs and 4.5 year old. Beautiful views of the river and the mountains in the background.

This is a nice little trail, but it needs to be maintained much better. The guy who mentioned a machete was not kidding! About 1/ third of a mile and we turned around because it was way too overgrown.

Just a walk in the woods, sort of along the river. The bridge is out over Beaver Lake, and there is No other route. oh, and bring a machete. yes, really...

Easy and fun little hike. Little bit of muddy spots here and there but overall a well maintained trail. The bridge was out but still able to get nice views of the river. Took our boys (10, 7 and 5) and they enjoyed it as well. Stopped down by the river for lunch, very beautiful spot!

Very pretty. Bridge is still out but my dogs loved it.

My kids (8 and 16 years old) and I enjoyed a nice, easy, relaxing hike to Beaver Lake today. This short n sweet hike offered a handful of opportunities to walk down the Sauk River and enjoy a nice cool down on a hot day. Beware of the stinging nettles on the trails edge reaching toward shins. Also the bridge at Beaver Lake is broken and temporary closed. ** There’s a Bald faced hornet nest somewhere under the bridge. We saw a few bees and my youngest was stung twice. Still a fantastic, easy hike with beautiful scenery.

Nice well maintained walk until the big broken bridge. We couldn’t make it over with a baby so couldn’t get to the lake

Great easy hike along the Sauk River. Great views on the drive in and even from the main parking area. There are a lot of new trees that have fallen and make the trail a bit challenging in some spots.

Not our intended trail for the day, but due to the road being closed this is why we ended up. only saw one other person and enjoyed a nice peaceful walk along the river nothing really exciting at all but we were outside and it was a nice day that's all there is to it! :)

Good hike, dog friendly and to sit by the river was beautiful with the views here. Not a lot of bugs either.

Chalk this up to a leisure 4 mile walk/ trail along the river. Awesome views of the mountain. Muddy in most spots. Dog friendly. Plenty of parking at trailhead along with restroom facilities.

Meh. The river along the trail was beautiful, but the muddy pond was hardly a destination!

We were the only ones on the trail that day. Follows the river for quite awhile. Bueatiful and wildflowers just starting to bloom. Dogs had a great time too.

The drive to the trail was great with beautiful mountain peaks all around. The trail had a few peek-a-boo views of the surroundings but for the most part seemed to just be a walk in the woods. The ponds were so uneventful this time of year that we discounted them and kept going to the trail washout that is now the trail's new end. I gave this trail more than one star because of the mountain views and the beautiful tree covered trail.

I had fun on this hike in the middle on the winter in the NW and of course no snow ! How awesome to have this as an option. Very easy hike.
