Great trail - I would not consider it moderate, felt a little more on the easier side but has some elevation gain on the way back. The stump house is cute and draws little ones to it like hummingbirds! The beach is serene and has great views! I personally wouldn't swim there - too rocky and shallow but the water temperature was great when we went in mid June.

Fun (and) easy trail to see the Stump House and beach.

Great trail for a family adventure. We went last summer and it was easy with a couple steep hills but not that challenging. Especially loved the stump house!

Great trail for families! We had a toddler with us. We went for the beach and the stump house. There are other trails if you want to explore a bit more or add more distance. We crossed the bridge and went to the beach first and then, stopped to see the stump house. It was absolutely gorgeous the whole hike. The trails were very well maintained. We went on Margaret’s way when we headed back to the car. It was a bit of an incline. Our toddler wined and wanted to be carried the rest of the way. We would definitely come back!

Great trail for my kids and my 77 year old (fairly agile) dad. It is an easy 2-3 mile walk/hike. There are a few other side trails to chose from once inside the Guillmont Cove preserve. Parking is in the roadway. Much of the trail down to the area where you go to the wetlands & stump house is a well-maintained gravel road. There is a cougar alert right now, but we didn’t see any scat or other signs today. Look into the water for fish and along the banks for signs of beavers. Inside the stump house you can add your name to a list of visitors in a notebook.

The stump house was worth the walk alone, but the beach and forest were great as well. Enjoyed seeing the oyster beds at low tide. Signage was a little unclear, but we found our way. No cougar sightings, despite warnings.

Went with my 15 year old sister, the beach is a great place for a picnic. Stump house is a fun photo op and the way back is uphill.
