THE local hiking trail. Steep going up the front, and at the top you get a wide reaching view of the tri cities on one side of the "mountain" and vineyards and farming on the other. Crowded in the mornings, but you should avoid midday when its hot. Many people run this one. Can be done in an hour at a leisurely pace but still a great workout. It may be over hyped by the locals, but the local love is what makes it special. Locals worked really hard to raise money to buy this land to protect it from residential developers and they're proud of it. Salty reviews are likely people who refuse to see the natural beauty of the desert - if its not green, they don't care.

This was a fun morning hike! We took our two elderly dogs and they did just fine. The climb up was a bit of a challenge for them, but the climb down was great!

after hiking gorgeous trails in southern Utah, Colorado and Arizona, I was deeply disappointed in this trail. every person who spoke to me about this trail at work, and the group formed to regularly hike it, promoted it with such enthusiasm and excitement that I was looking forward to my first hike on Badger Mountain. first of all, there was nothing of natural beauty to enjoy, only a man made park at the foot of the mountain; secondly, there where so many people hiking it, it was too crowded; plus, many had turned it into a race rather than an exploratory hike. The trail consisted of brown desert dirt, some sagebrush, the rare pretty rock or small cluster of tiny wildflowers, if you searched carefully. This trail has been excessively over-hyped and promoted by the residents of this area. It's as if people here have never hiked a real nature trail before!

Great local trail, avoid during peak hours. Create your personal difficulty by speed & stride. Great for a quick outdoor cardio burst.
