This was a beautiful, scenic muddy disaster. Come prepared to slog through some deep mud. We weren’t. The end result is my wife and my dog and I were covered in mud. He thought that was great. Us not so much.

The section of the trail on Marsh Island is currently closed due to high water levels. I tried to push through but the trail is basically one large puddle. Could be even worse farther along.

This is a lovely and unique trail you normally don't find in a city. I went in the summer and felt like on an adventure as the road and bridges led me to one surprise after another. At the end of the trail was UW's kayak rent office.

This is a unique Seattle experience, hiking from the arboretum over to the Lake Washington ship canal and along the canal across from Husky stadium. You'll see scores of boaters on a sunny day during boating season. Pass under the Montlake bridge for a view of Portage bay. Short and scenic hike.
