Nice hike with decent mileage and elevation gains for something outside of Mt Spokane State Park and Mica Peak. The summit doesn't have any 360 degree views because of the trees, but it's easy to walk around to see different things. I'm looking forward to returning in the spring when Leland Pond isn't frozen over. Note: There were a few blowdowns and the trail was covered with a lot of compact snow and ice. It's probably not going to get better as more snow moves in, so I recommend gearing up appropriately.
Beautiful hike. About 3 inches of snow on the ground. Recommend crampons as there is a lot of ice hiding under the snow. With proper gear it is really enjoyable. Only saw 1 other person out there.
Beautiful day, perfect hiking weather. frozen in the morning, a little mud in the afternoon but not bad.
Good hike, not too difficult but a nice 6.5mi loop. Good views at the top!
Always a great ride with the horses. The incline is great if you’re looking to get your horses legged up and fit this is a nice spring starter for that. The views overlooking into Idaho Stateline to liberty Lake , Spokane Valley are always phenomenal and breathtaking
View from the top makes it a four. The loop trail alone would just be a 3. The dismount is pretty steep.
It's a fun trail run. BUT lot of the trail has brushes right up the the edge. So if you are running you are more likely to run into animal's be cause you cant see them... saw some Moose, turtles, turkeys and lots of rabbits. Go counter clockwise as the last mile down is steep and a fast run. Really sharp corners which are fun to do while running.
Nice trail. just did some backpack tryning on it. like others have said "lots of horse poop. lots of rabits and I only passed 4 people the whole time. this is a Wednesday so thats probably why.
