Easily the best hike we've done all year! Not too far from Seattle- but far enough that is is under-utilized by city folk. The hike is scenic throughout with a fantastic view of the lakes. The trail is well-marked with punctuated elevation gain followed by lulls. The drive up on forest road 1112 is scenic in and of itself. You may need a 4x4 or other high-clearance vehicle to access the trail head depending on the time of year.
