I've went on this trail many times while I was bored at camp, and its the most amazing trail. Its not that hard and the views are amazing. You can just take a camping chair with you and spend a whole day there

750ft of elevation gain in just over a half mile. pretty steady though with lots of switchbacks. my 6yr old and I did it no problem. great views of the lake and the Columbia river. trails went further than we went. there is a new service road for the state park that cuts through about 70 yards into the hike, use the service road to start, the first 70 yards was getting pretty over grown. did see signs of black bear at the top and bottom of the trail.
