We did about a 3 mile hike in and 3 mile hike out. This brought us to Olallie Lake after passing Talapus Lake. It was early in the season, so snow was still covering a large portion of the trail. There were Camprobber Jays at Olallie Lake and pretty mountain & lake views throughout. I wouldn't mind doing another hike in this area of a different portion of the trail.
