Directions from Dwontown Washington, DC: Take the Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway north to Beach Drive. Exit onto Beach Drive, north, and take it to Broad Branch Road. Make a left and then a right onto Glover Road, follow the signs to the Nature Center, 5200 Glover Road, NW. Trail begins at the Nature Center

Would rate as moderate and many opportunities to make your own way. Some dirt paths, some rocky/hiking/hilly, and some flat paved. Gorgeous along the creek no matter the season.

3 stars for the trail , +1 for the location. We hiked most of the north side of military road, it took around 3 hours

Great hike, but it is more moderate than easy. The trail was also had to follow since it was comprised of a couple of other trails.

Good for a day's workout. Trail has good tree cover and stays cooler.

I went there a few weeks ago, the trail to the north east was closed off. I took the a road along side but it is also technically closed off to public. FYI, you end up at a police station at the end of the road so I wouldnt recommend sneaking around, wait until the construction is done and the roads reopen.

Information regarding open trails during beach dr construction would be highly valued.

Really a nice park, though it would be helpful to have more information posted about what trails are closed due to the Beach Drive construction. It resulted in a bit of backtracking because routes were closed off.

This is my favorite spot to go for a hike in the city. It's beautiful, the trails are well marked, and during the week you won't see many people. There are more people on the weekend, but due to the size of Rock Creel Park, I never felt it was too many people.

Great Trail

Great trail, I walk, and cycling with my family, and many people do the same.

Everyone loves rock creek because it is in DC and easy to get to. However, the trails are nothing special. For a park visited by so many people, the trail markers are poorly done. It is very easy to get confused.

I love the Rock Creek trails. Somewhat difficult to find due to gate closures. But well worth the hassle. The streams that run parallel to the trail offer the perfect nature oasis. Terrain is hilly in some parts and flat in others. Quiet and peaceful with an occasional horse or two that will pass. My fav trail in DC.

Parked at the Nature Center and took the West Ridge Trail to the Washington Zoo. Just a little over 3 miles one way. The zoo is free but the parking is $22 a car. If you don't mind walking, park free in the park.

Can't beat it for a quick escape in the city. Trails range from rocky footpaths to paved roads along the creek. Great trails to bring the dog on too! Easy parking right at the trailheads.
