This is an Incredibly beautiful trail. I took my dog out here and we wandered from the start of the trail to the end of the trail. Beautiful pictures and everything was so enoyable! My phone died so it didn't record the whole trail but I got my 11 miles in!

Fabulous trail running in the heart of the city. Even options to escape for a national zoo run.

Very pretty, relaxing, easy walk. But very busy. Walkers, bikers, dogs, families.

Fun hike, but very poor signage. Much of the trail is closed and the park does a terrible job of letting you know.

Good hiking trail, popular on weekends. Entrance from 18th and Shepherd is pretty muddy but once you pick up the Valley trail it's not so bad. Good afternoon hike!

Great trail system in the heart of DC. There is some construction related to Beach road along this trail that forces a few detours, but pleasant none the less. Connects to the Western ridge trail for a change of scenery on the way back

HikingMuddySnow

Soooooooo muddy that I kept slipping and almost falling, even in good hiking shoes. Also had my (sometimes unfriendly on a leash) dog with me but ran into a few off-leash dogs which I thought would be an issue but things turned out ok. I'm sure this trail is much better in the summer when it's dry and not as muddy. I went in early February when all the snow was melting. Seems like it would be really beautiful when things are green!
