Like others have suggested, combine this one with Iron Mine and Stewards Knob. This area is an exercise in seeing how well Mother Nature can reclaim an area from logging and mining. Trails on this side of the park not much used in the winter apparently. And given the season and no lake usage, it was VERY quiet - no cars, airplanes, boats, people. Take a map if you are short on time and don't want to zig zag between the very close trails.

This review is for all three trails here that are pretty much all on top of each other: Stuart's Knob Trail, Whiskey Run Trail, and Iron Mine Trail. These trails are great, and I do all three of them whenever I come to this area. Their difficulty is predominantly easy with some occasional incline here and there. As this is part of Fairy Stone Park, there is always a $7 parking fee.

Trails need some clearing but it is a wonderful adventure.

1st time there for me. 33 degree day with a fair amount of sunshine. I took Whiskey Run all the way around and got on Iron Mine and then onto Stuart's Knob to check out the summit. All in all a nice hike for me and the pups.Trail was well blazed and the tread pretty good. Lots of leaves on the trail so it was difficult to see where any rocks or stumps were which is important for a guy who has a tendency to shuffle too much LOL. The second two trails were marked as difficult. Not sure if I found them to be so. Worth the trip up there if you've never been.

Very easy, couple of nice views (still no leaves up) and did not take much time. I think map try's to start you in a different spot. There are signs marking the lot to park in.
