The boardwalk provides access to the beautiful wetland flood plain. Only a small portion of the boardwalk is actually built at this time.

such a cute small trail that has been well taken care of! few gnats by the water but that’s expected.

This is a well taken care of pier but not really a trail of any sort. The parking is street parking but if you live close enough by it, it is a nice view.

If you're waiting for this park to be complete don't hold your breath. It was approved in 2000. The part that has been constructed was done between 2014 and 2016 and as far as I can tell nothing has been done since. Henrico sold a good portion of property in Deep Run Park down the street in 2017 so you can be assured that they aren't prepared to actually front the cost of the Master Plan boardwalk. Which is a shame. It sounds like a lovely idea. For the time being Tuckahoe creek can only be enjoyed if you are a kayaker. It would be safer to call this thing a pier and not a trail.

this, IMHO, shouldn't be on the app, as it's not a completed trail. WTP

I recommend waiting until the trail is complete. I discovered from the community that this location is not supposed to be for the public, which is why there is no place to park. From what I was told, it is an entrance point for those that live close by to have access to a trail that is not yet completed. There will be a main entrance where parking is permitted once the project is complete.

The boardwalk provides access to the beautiful wetland flood plain (Big Swamp). I reviewed the master plan online before visiting. So, I was extremely disappointed to find that only a very small portion of the boardwalk was actually built. It is for this reason, I gave Tuckahoe Creek Park 2 stars.
