Super easy and nice hike! Not very scenic on the way though... but the view from the summit totally worth it!

Short and easy hike with a stunning view at the end. Just as we made it to the summit, the clouds started to disappear and we were treated to the view of fog rolling between bright yellow-red trees in the valley below.
If you have a few minutes to spare and are in the area, give this short walk a shot!

An easy hike on a heavily traveled trail, one of the most popular on the ridge. The view from the turnaround point is a huge draw and offers a fantastic view of the Shenandoah Valley.

Parking at the trail head fills quickly but the lodge offers plenty of parking just 100 yards up the road.

Great view at the end. Also takes you past an abandoned copper mine. It is a pretty cool trail.

This is a very easy, brief hike to the summit with a breathtaking view as the reward. After I reached the peak of Stony Man I came down and took a short excursion to the summit of Little Stony Man, where the view was almost as great. It waa maybe 3+ miles total to go to both summits.

Nice, short, simple hike with a wonderful view at the top. It should be noted that you can only see the sign that indicates the trailhead for Stony Man by turning in to where it says "Skyland." Again - the view!!!

This is a nice little trail that delivers a spectacular view of the valley at the end for only little effort. This trail will always hold a special place in my heart because of the person who introduced it to me.

This is a short and easy hike on a beautiful trail up to the 4,010 foot summit and the spectacular rocky lookout. Bring binoculars or a telephoto lens if possible. It is a great spot for birdwatching. If there is more time on my next visit, I would like to include Little Stony Man in a loop by way of the AT and the Passamaquoddy Trail.

One of the best. For a longer hike, begin at the horse barns from the south entrance to Skyline. Follow the AP to the north entrance starting point.

My wife and I hiked the Stony Man Summit trail on our trip to Skyland for our Anniversary. It was a great hike for our first "mountain" hike! The view at the top was incredible! At the fork at the loop, we chose the right-side path, which was a lot rockier and steeper than the left-side path; although it wasn't steep enough to be considered anything harder than we could take.

Excellent hike for what we needed!!

Really wonderful view up top. The wife and I had breakfast at Skyland and headed up straight from there. A great morning!
