Second Battle of Bull Run. The Second Battle of Bull Run or Second Manassas was fought August 28-30, 1862, as part of the American Civil War. It was the culmination of an offensive campaign waged by Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia against Union Maj. Gen. John Pope's Army of Virginia, and a battle of much larger scale and numbers than the First Battle of Bull Run (First Manassas) fought in 1861 on the same ground. This trail guides you through the Second Manassas Battlefield.

I loved the history as well as the forested area of the trail. I agree that it was a moderate trail. For a newbie this trail was great for us "beginners". I'll do it again at a later time

Really nice hike. Had its harder spots but overall a great way to spend the afternoon. Took me a touch under two hours, plus one quick stop. Saw some deer too
Lots of markers and the NPS map is accurate. Note that the map marks the trail in Red but the trail markers are Blue.
