HikingGreat!

It’s a very popular hike, parking is limited so come early. Lots of people on the trail and many pets. The waterfall was very crowded. There are several spots to stop by and take a dip in the water. Peaceful views of the Potomac.

Really rocky path, and I got my shoes wet rather than risk a fall by walking on the pillars but oh well. A gorgeous walk which I highly recommend!

Easy with some moderate to intermediate spots on/off the trail. Proper shoes are a must IMO. Beautiful views!

Nature tripsGreat!Muddy

The trail was great! Nice and short so great for when you want some activity, but don’t want to get too tired. Someone commented that the small waterfall is the main attraction, but there is much more of you climb past the waterfall. This is a photo shoot/music video worthy location. There is a notable police presence, but honestly it’s needed because there are so many teens/jocks who need to be monitored/feel like they have a reason to behave. Especially when they are in groups.

Really great trail for kids. I hiked with my 4 year old. He loved the water creek he was able to walk through 2 as we headed to the waterfall.

The small waterfalls is the attraction but honestly that’s about it. Go for walking the dogs. But you can have fun at the river!

Trails through the woods were very nice and serene. The Scotts run trail to the water fall was nice but there was quite a bit of trash around.

Hiking

Not a trail for hikers. The trail suffers from heavy traffic of all ages. After about 15 minutes of walk we finally reached the Potomac River. There are signs claiming that it is forbidden to swim in the river. Also, access to the waterfall is not easy. There are way better trails in the area that offer a good hike with great waterfall access.

One word: Quick!! Nice trail and open to walk around. A short hike to the waterfall, passing by a few streams and some rocks! Parking limited so go early.

When we passed the parking lot, it was closed due to being full. Ended up following a crowd of the cars; some parked off of the road and others near some houses. Took us over 10 mins to find parking near houses and then had to walk 1 mile to the entry. The walk felt unsafe since the cars were passing by us, just 2 feet away. When we got to the entry, the parking lot was open. It was super crowded but a nice waterfall view. Would recommend going early and looping around if you see the parking lot closed to avoid having to walk next to cars, especially if taking kids.
