Attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes, couldn’t finish the trail. Never seen so many mosquitoes! There are no signs on the trail for Salamander Loop, just Ni trail, so we followed that until forced to turn back or else contract West Nile. Very limited designated parking but I guess one could chance parking at the nearby school building.

Nice hike today. We saw no one else! If you have to choose, we liked the Ni Rover trail best. The river is lovely to wade in. Bring your insect repellant!

super buggy, we couldn't even finish the entire trail. well we DID finish the Ni River Trail which has a sign stating this is the end for now. there was another trail that kept going around but it was just too buggy. and almost 2 mile hike there and back to assigned park area.

Be aware of logs paving, they are unstable, I opted for walking on the side of it.

Very nice easy hike. Lots of wildlife - beautiful song birds, snakes, eagles, deer. One of my new favorites.

A new trail section has been built by some unknown group, it now makes a circuit , called the rolling trail, that ties into the upland forest trail near the vernal pond.

Went here about a month ago. Parts of this trail are very overgrown and hard to even access. There was like no wildlife really at all until we reached the turning point then we saw some turtles. Also this trail is pretty much owned by the insect mafia and they will come for you, all of them.. at once. Be warned. Also chiggers.

Perfect little hike to get kids started. Make sure to bring bug repellent. Pawpaw trees were starting to fruit will have to come back to pick them when they are ready.

This is a nice trail, especially if you have kids with you. It's relatively short and pretty easy. If you decide to do the Ni River Trail that's attached to Salamander loop, it's also nice and kid friendly. Just a heads up though...it's tagged as wheelchair friendly...and this trail/loop is definitely not wheelchair friendly once you enter the trail.

Simple, fairly flat, well shaded trails. I started by following along the Farm Pond trail, then back towards the trailhead where I hooked up to the Upland Forest trail, jumped on the Vernal Pond trail. This leads back to the Upland forest trail and connects you to theNi River Trail. I took this out and back to the Farm Pond trail and then back to the trail head. This was approx 2.75 fun miles.

First to Review

Easy little hiking trail that I did with our 4 yr old. There are a few trails here; one is ADA. Salamander loop is easy and fun. I will admit that when you get to the trail that follows the Ni river it gets a little thinner and is closed during hunting season.
