We arrived early to avoid crowds and we were the only swimmers at the swimming hole for an hour which made it worth it! My only issue is only 1/2 -3/4 of the trail was clear. A lot of the time I had to question if we were on the right path due to all the rocks and occasionally mini cliffs. We would simply cross the stream if we were unsure. I never saw many of the markings they referenced. Regardless, following the stream was the best bet.

It was an amazing trail, expect to get wet due to several stream crossings, and a optional but recommended cliff jump. It was family friendly, extremely beautiful and fun. With several areas to jump in and cool off. Bring your family and enjoy.

Nice little ramble following the water the whole time. Go expecting to get wet, multiple water crossings. Also it’s basically a web of trails now that weave along the River. Getting lost isn’t really a worry since it does follow the river though. I enjoyed this little hike quite a bit, probably would’ve given it 5 stars if the main trail was blazed. Popular trail in the summer so be prepared to parallel park along the side of the forest service road near the trail head

Nice hike to waterfall. Trail crosses river a couple times and in some spots is hard to follow. Stay on the well worn paths to get you there.

If you’re hung up on overlooks and summits, this trail will make you a believer otherwise. I wore supportive hiking boots that drain, which was perfect due to rocks and creek crossings. The trail has washed away in spots but there are plenty of ways around the dangers....there isn’t just one trail, but many ways to get to the end. The crossings can be slippery so be sure to take care and find the safest places. Be prepared to carry little ones through the more dangerous spots. We had children of all ages as young as 5, and had no issues aside what’s already mentioned. Also no cell service so ensure you have hard copy directions.

This has become one of my favorites. The trail itself follows a stream the entire way basically.

Bring some water shoes. There are 5 water crossings. The water feels fantastic now that it is warm. There are some "one lane" trails but everyone is being respectful and moving to the side maintain distancing. Added to my favorites list.

Trail is tricky and to make it to the falls you have to cross the stream 5 times. Pay attention to the trail and you’ll find it. WORTH IT!!! Second year in a row traveling here to hike it and we will be returning. It’s the whole families’ favorite hike! Our adventurous 3 year old even holed the whole way to the falls but had to be backpacked out. Pack some food and make a day of it! The hike is fun!

As everyone had mentioned, it is easy to lose the trail if you haven’t done the hike before. Got a little lost on the way there but just continued to follow the creek and eventually made it to the falls. The “tide pools” above the falls are even cooler. The way back from the falls was much easier and quicker since we knew what to follow. Definitely plan to spend more time than you think, especially if it’s your first time.

This whole area is beautiful. The river was cold and clear. The waterfall was nice. I stepped on a copperhead (oops). The only issue with the trail is that it is absolutely not marked. There are several unmarked river crossings. It’s not clear where they are. We somehow got all the way to the falls without crossing the river a single time, but with lots of scrambling. We crossed over at the falls, and then back and forth at least 3 more times to get back. Still, we will definitely return later in the summer to camp and swim.

This is a decent hike, but if you want to swim or backpack, then it’s an incredible spot. There aren’t any views, but there are beautiful waterfalls, swimming holes, and campsites. The trail is in rough shape, too. Consider taking the alternate trail if you don’t want to risk falling off the small cliff into the riverbed. This happened to a teen right behind me while I was backpacking. Thankfully, he was almost unharmed, save a bruised back and damaged ego.

Wow what a confusing trail. Really really confusing. It’s like choose your own adventure. Be aware that there are like 3 times when you will be crossing the stream. It’s up to maybe mid calf. Really amazing swimming spots and super pretty falls at the end.

This was an absolutely beautiful trail. I was concerned reading the reviews prior to going of people losing the trail often, but we didn’t find it very difficult to keep track of it. Maybe once or twice but picked it right back up. It was challenging in some areas but nothing too grueling. Lots of different swimming holes, even if you go up past the main falls. I left my dog at home for this one, glad I did because some areas he wouldn’t have been able to make it. Only downfall to me is how crowded it was getting, but I can surly see why. One of my new favorites and can’t wait to do it again!

Great trail with great views all in all- would not say its “moderate” nor “easy” was rather difficult and found myself trying to find myself back on trail. the water views and nature is breathtaking! was all worth it in the end!

This is not an easy hike. I definitely would consider this one to be one of the more difficult yet popular ones in the area. It is difficult to know where the path is leading you less you have somebody who’s gone through this hike a couple times, It is easy to end your self up potentially on a ledge is you stray. But if you have somebody that knows how to navigate through the river section it’s really not that bad. Very windy, lots to explore. There’s a little section you can swim at near the very end of the hike, the upper pool and lower pool make this worth it on hot days. But I would definitely say this is a hard hike, and not easy navigated.
