This section of the Potomac Heritage Trail is a section that runs through the Lansdowne community. It is disconnected with the rest of the trail network but future efforts seek to connect it from DC along the Potomac to Leesburg.

Start at Bles park and walk between the ball fields. Through the park and to a residential road. The “trailhead” starts about a. 1/2 mile in. Easy walk and defined and blazed (blue) path. Golf course on one side and river on the other. Best sights are past the turn up Goose Creek. Not challenging, and was not looking for that, but good distance.

Badly maintained. Has the potential to be a very good trail if it's properly maintained and demarcated.

The trail is very flat. It travels along the river. It's very hard for anyone to get lost. A few mikes into the trail, it takes you next to the golf course. The only issue is that the bridge (beneath Rt. 7) that connects the parking lot to the trail head no longer exist. Cross the river using Rt. 7 and find the trailhead over the fence/rails.
