Directions from Natural Bridge Station, VA: Travel east to Route 501 onto Forest Service Road 54, a gravel road. Go about 0.6 miles, bear right (uphill) onto gravel logging road. Trailhead parking 500 feet up logging road.

Good workout due to length, but no views or interesting features. Pleasant woodland setting. Highlight was seeing a black bear!

Was a nice hike, although parts of this loop is over grown. Around mile 5.5, going clockwise, ran into a wasp nest on the trail and got stung about 4 times.
