HikingGreat!

Nature Trail with seperate Fitness/Exercise Station Course. The Fitness Course isn't marked and you might have to walk through it to get to the main Trail (Red) depending on what way you took in. Red Trail Carves around the perimeter of the Park along the elementary school. Orange trail is the second longest trail. It cuts through the middle of Red and leads to the Outdoor Amphitheater. White trail is short and leads from Red to Orange Trail. Purple Trail is short and leads from Red trail/ Fitness Course to the Outdoor Amphitheater. Green trail is short and leads from Parking lot to Outdoor Amphitheater. Best place to access the trails is from the Amphitheater parking lot and NOT THE YMCA PARKING LOT and enter through Orange and Purple trail to get to Red. You can make a large loop out of it depending on on the trails you take. It can be confusing to go in from the Fitness Course side (YMCA) since it doesn't have color markings on where to go. All paths will lead back out to the main road so you can get lost but its not hard to make your way out. its just a matter of how far it'll put you out from your car. Great and safe place! Will explore more!

It was really confusing to get to the loop as there were many trails and no markings until I got to the loop. I was grateful for the recording feature so I didn’t get lost! I followed the red blazes which matched up with the trail map loop. I also saw white and purple blazes but stuck to the map. The grassy parts were very overgrown and those areas were also muddy. You could hear kids playing on the YMCA playground so it wasn’t a quiet peaceful hike. I only came across one family so it wasn’t crowded. All in all, the hike was ok if you know where you are on the map, but I probably won’t do this one again.

Nice mostly shady walk after work. Will definitely be back to explore all the little paths that intersect. Like the exercise stations set up on one of the other paths.

First to Review

This is a nice relatively short series of interconnected trails in Patriot Park; most of them are on old roads through overgrown fields. No blow downs across the trail, that aspect of the trail system is well maintained. Some of the road surfaces are rather muddy though after rain. Five different color blazed trails: red, green, purple, white and orange. Connects to the local YMCA and Parkside Elementary School.
