We enjoyed the Civil War historical portion of this hike and the wonderful views of nature around the lake and golf course. We saw lots of deer, ducks, geese, squirrels, and other wildlife. The lake was perfectly clear and like a mirror! We will be returning here to explore more of the park.

So this trail is not very well marked at all. It crosses over a few different trails, some which aren't well maintained at all. Grass is high and there aren't many markers. This trail was actually around 6.6 miles and it takes a lot of looking back and forth at the map to make sure you are on the right track.

Carved out my own path through the park and looping back at the golf course. Enjoyed the paved roads, not much vehicular traffic and plenty of shade. A ride you can safely go on with the family

went here at 7am got 30 min into trail and turned around because of all the spider webs and spiders must have run into 50 webs before calling it a bad run

Nice hike through civil war history. The earthworks are amazing to see and learning about the history is awe inspiring. Great views of the reservoir.

Great loop with several beautiful views of the water! Also, some incredible historical anecdotes on a battle that occurred at this location.

This is a beautiful trail, the trails are not lakside loop though. You start at the visiters center and go around the wayside back to the fishing area. From there on down the lakeside to the trail head. Then White Oak trail and back to the visiters center. It's a good little walk,I loved it...Igave it a 4 because I did not know it was a few trails together and not marked Lakeside Loop...But it is a beautiful trail.

Beautiful trails. Well marked. I hiked this while the park staff was putting up their Christmas light show. Most impressive!

This trail I found to be the most challenging of the short trails as NNP, which I loved. I also got stung by a massive bee of some kind on this trail, so I will remember it for a long time!

Wonderful trail! It follows the lake most of the way but also dives into some woodland. We were out there early but there were a lot of people.
