If you are looking for a flat surface to walk, run, bike, or ride a horse on, this is a nice trail. It’s about 4.5 miles round trip from the parking area to the restroom. Points of interest include the New River, and an old railroad tunnel and trestle.

Excellent hike! Trail was very well kept. Restroom facility located at Fries Junction at your turn around point. If you have any interest in the railroad this would be a must as this section of the tail includes 1 of only 2 tunnels on the whole trail system, along with a massive steel bridge.

Trail partially shaded by trees and the cool tunnel provide some relief from the heat.

Trail is moderately used. During a two hour period a total of 8 other parties were encountered.
