The multi-use trail winds through a beautiful hardwood forest, with glimpses of the water now and then. The trail is shared, so bikers need to be wary of coming up on horses and hikers. Several switchbacks, and more hilly than we originally expected, but the hills are pretty short distances as you go around the drainage features heading to the reservoir. Natural trail bed of dirt, sand, and leaves - slick in spots. Fun ride but know your limits. Two middle-aged adults and one teen did about 9 miles (4.5 miles out and back) - glad we didn't try the whole length out and back. If you shuttle from both ends, it is doable as a longer one-way ride. No obstacles other than lots of roots. We started from the main boat ramp parking lot on 616 - next time we'll try starting at the 606 end.

We loved this easy trail along the lake. Lots of place to sit and watch geese and ducks. Our dogs loved it, too.

Rode my Mountain Bike, 5 miles in, 5 miles out ... not pleasant, lots of roots, very hilly, too many sandy areas. hard to enjoy the ride. The good part is that it's well marked, quiet, and lots of shade.

Recommend! You can go as far as you want or turn back around. Trail is very well marked. There is a sign in and out sheet for safety. Lots of wildlife. :) very peaceful moderately hilly trail.

Nice hike through the woods. The lake offers nice views along the way. Clearly marked the whole way through. Very nice way to get out and spend a couple of hours.

Nice 3 mile trail with beautiful lake views. The trail can be muddy in spots and horses are allowed so you may run across some presents. There are a few hills but the hike is relatively easy. Well marked. Great trail for me and the pup to get some fresh air.

Lots of biting flies, hard to enjoy the nature. Was on trail for 2 hours and heard gunshots the entire time off in the distance. Will look for a more peaceful hike next time.

Hiked this on a sunny but chilly day. I really enjoyed it. The lake was beautiful and the woods equally as pretty. The trails were very well marked. Highly recommend it!

Fantastic ride, not for the beginner; lots of roots, hills, sand, mud and sharp switchbacks. First 4 miles is the more difficult part afterwards it eases a bit. Passed one horse and one fellow biker, otherwise it was squirrels, deer, rabbits, and butterflies. There are some biting flies that will get at you if you stop for a pause, but not terrible near the water in July.

Beautiful views of the lake at every turn. Enjoy the forest, wildlife and fauna. I would give this trail a 5 for beauty but there were soooooo many people.

Wonderful trail. There are provisions for horses along the way but I did not see any horses. This trail runs close to the hiking trail and offers short conectors along the way.

Nice park, beautiful lake and beautiful forest. I went out the hiking trail and came back the multi use trail. There were horse hitches and watering troughs every couple miles but no horse tracks or horse droppings. Same with bikes, there were no tire tracks in the muddy sections of the trail. But it was a beautiful Saturday and the walkers were out.

First to Review

Nice clean trail. Very easy to negotiate the bike/horse trail from the hikers only trail. It is quite hilly, and be prepared for lots of tree roots on the trail to ride over. I had a late start, so I did not ride the entire trail, but what I did do was very good. I will defiantly head out there again, and ride the whole trail!
