HikingMuddy

Muddy sections the day after rainstorms, but well maintained paths with gravel at times. The dogs loved it and didn’t see any people until we were leaving.

HikingGreat!

Not a bad walk. A bit muddy in spots. It is an out and back but we decided to check out the Otter Point area and then head back on the Shuttle trail to switch things up. Did not see any otters but saw a large Heron.

It was pretty muddy and a couple of huge trees fell on the trail. I had bug spray but the wasps were really bad.

Haha, wow. We knew to expect muddy but today gave us an unexpected adventure. It was actually a lot of fun off trailing and balancing on downed trees to stay clear of the floods. Lots of cute bridges and tons of birds out today. Loved the sunshine through the trees!

The trail is very muddy. You have to go off trail a lot which is nerve wracking bc of snakes. You have to keep your eye out for the red boxes showing the trail, it would be very easy to get turned out. One of the worst trails I’ve done.

Super muddy today. To be expected when it's been raining for a few days, though. Lol Still fun!

Walking

Muddy in January. But bug-free! Great exercise on a nice winter day. Many informative bulletin boards re: animals, birds, and trees on several bridges. Trail well marked. Portapotties open near campstore and kayak launch.

Don't trust the location on the map for this trail - it's in Northwest River Park. It's a nice hike, very easy, flat all the way but enough twists and winding bends (and tree roots) to make it interesting. Watch out if it's been raining, this trail floods out in several spots.

Beautiful trail. Had to adjust my navigation from the app, AllTrails put me closer to the city when the trail is actually closer to the North Carolina border. There were also many more options for trails once I got there that extended off the Molly Mitchell trail. I would not recommend running on this trail as there are a lot of exposed roots.

There is an interesting slough. I saw an otter but by the time I got the camera ready he had left. The trail runs through beautiful forest and swamp.
