Many trailheads in this park are closed due to COVID-19. Please check the park website for up to date info on which trails are accessible. Great views of Knob Mountain, spring/source for Jeremys Run. This hike uses the Knob Mtn Trail and the Elkwallow Trail to make a pleasing circuit between Mathews Arm Campground and Elkwallow Wayside. The Wayside has a cafeteria, snack bar, camp store, and gift shop, and is open from mid-April to the end of October.

Nice hike from picnic area to stream on a 70 degree day in early March. Kids and dog really enjoyed playing in Jeremy's run

Super creepy trail! Zero line of sight when everything is growing. There is also no view, there might be in the winter, but not in the summer.

Clockwise path from Elkwallow. Path in AllTrails appears to be a little off on the NE side of the route and longer (7.4 miles). At times I wondered if I was on the right trail but I didn’t see any other turns and the path finally started to match the expected route. Water crossing and one bad blow down that appeared to be a dead end but you can climb over it and the trail resumes. The east side is quiet but getting overgrown already. Recommend tick repellent and long pants.

Great circuit, beautiful environment. specifically,. started from Elkwallow. AT -> Jeremy's Run -> Knob Mtn Cutoff Trail -> Elkwallow-Mathews Arm Tr. Was actually 6 ish miles for us. Beautiful weather. Couple of folks transiting in opposite direction, a few with dogs. No problems and had a great time.
