As others have said, it's not marked so don't forget your phone or gps. It was beautiful. The water is great and very few people. A few branches and a fallen tree are on the trail. We only saw three people in the course of an hour. And we saw a fox!

beautiful and fun to ride but no trail markings in the whole trail so getting lost is very easy

It was a great trail but poorly marked. Got turned around a few times. Nothing to crazy, some fun jumps and steep hills. Would advise having some form of GPS. Will be back soon.

Super easy & beautiful location, Great for trail running, too. Expect to use the gps on this app getting back; the trails aren’t connected and seemingly meander at will.

Absolutely fun and beautiful ! The only concern was the trail was a little off which caused us to get lost but nonetheless it was the best time ever !

Mountain biking

this was my first time here, and I was delighted with this trail!!!! it's not so much a "trail," as it is a, rigorous labyrinth of dynamically varied terrain. a few drops and small climbs, several jumps, the random log here and there, all in all once you find your way back to the the trail head, it's freekin awesome. bring snacks!!

A lot to explore. Good for bikes. Nothing I really hated about it, but there are better trails.

I loved it! I just got back and although I tried to stay around the lake somehow I got off and ended up going in a big loop. The trail is hilly and some areas not easily seen. It's rustic but at no time did I feel unsafe. This is right across from where Noland trail is on the other side of Warwick . For some reason I thought this was Noland Trail and because I knew Noland Trail was closed because of covid-19 I was missing out. I did see a few people on this Trail but very, very few compared to Trails such as Newport News and Sandy Beech Bottom which are full of people

Great trail , very isolated. Definitly my new favorite in the 757. you can get lost just remember if you go off on a side trail take a mental note where you did. Awesome though . This is what I would consider an authentic trail compared to others around the area

Beautiful hike with labyrinth of pathways. Most of it is not marked. There’s zero signage. The maps on apps as not terribly accurate. Either way, great for a hike you don’t mind aimlessly wandering on. You can’t get too lost though as you’ll eventually hit either the lake or the main road.

The trail is rustic and many side trails to go down. 1698 Gatewood Rd has a small trailhead with parking for about 8 Vehicles but you will be like WTF is this really the right place. I'm sure there are other parking spots but thats where I ended up with the GPS. Mt. Bike types are in and out but it's a great moderate trail to hike as well. there are NO bathrooms so get that taken care of before the hike.

One of my favorite trails. It is pretty, well maintained, and has several variations in elevation that allow a fairly moderate workout! 1 mile, 2.5 mile and 5 mile loops make for a quick walk or an extended trek! Have reversed it to make a great 10 miler too!

Good for a quick day hike. Plenty of side trails to get “lost” on. Tons of roots and the trails could be marked better. All in all a good day. Bring a trash bag! Enough trash to fill a land fill!

Parking is minimal and there was construction going on at the entrance. This trail was beyond confusing even with the app. I’m sure it didn’t help that the ground was covered in leaves but you can see how complicated it is by looking at the app. We ended up only doing 3 miles instead of the 5 it’s supposed to be. I’m still not sure how we missed a portion of it. The trail was not marked at all. The path was narrow and there are roots so be careful. There were some pretty wooded and lake views: I won’t be doing this one again but I have encountered worse. There are much better options out there.

Somewhat hard to follow. However, a great hike if you like ever changing terrain and turns and heights. Good workout and scenery. Some updating could make this a 5 star one day.

Trails were narrow and difficult to follow, so chose to bail out and run across the street on the Noland Trail. As an avid runner, I wouldn't recommend this one. It seems good for biking.

Walking

Not a bad trail last time I was on it (walking), however it is geared towards mountain biking. And if you do not have a clear map or a good sense of direction it can get you turned around and lost in a heart beat. The first few times I experienced this trial was mountain biking and it is a great ride.
