Both very easy trails for Stony Man and Little Stony Man loops. Gorgeous view. Trail is rocky as the name suggests. Overall a great trails. I’m giving 4 starts because the AllTrails map leads to to continue to the Appalachian trail at some point and directs you to follow a path that isn’t there. So I had to back track and find my way.

We LOVED little stony man trail! It’s considered moderate but this one wasn’t much harder than stony man. We hiked this late February and the trail conditions weren’t bad. There was a bit of ice at some parts but it was easy to get around them. Since it was pretty cold there weren’t many people around. Sort of rocky at times but nothing too bad. The view points are gorgeous!

Awesome Trail if you’re looking for a good short hike to stretch your legs. I went in March so there was still a few patches of ice on the trail but nothing that wasn’t manageable. Killer views at the top and great little over looks along the way- would definitely recommend!

Nice trail, great vistas. No foliage in mid-March so more views that way. Loved the streaks of blue mountains against the sky!

Great trail- it’s a great leg workout, but rocky, so def have to watch your footing. The view is so beautiful! My husband, I, and our dog will def be coming back.

I will forever love the view from Stony Man Lookout; it's easily the best in the entire park. The hike up is fairly short and pretty easy - maybe 20ish minutes. Today it was bitterly cold, but the view was no less spectacular. Highly recommend if you need a quick hike with a major payoff.

I enjoyed this trail. It is a good starter trail for getting you ready for longer trails. I thought the view from the top was beautiful. I’d definitely do it again.

Beautiful and so fun!

Incredibly easy and full of people. Subpar look out.

Went 10/21/19, found a couple spots (off trail) that I should check out later. Ate a sandwhich there, crossed ingredients too.

Nice trail with great views. Not too hard or long. Good short hike on a nice day.

Nice easy hike with great views. Definitely worth it if you are looking for a short easy hike.

Great views at all 3 locations. On the return (passamaquoddy & furnace spring trails), it’s very rocky. Very enjoyable though!

Great view after a moderate hike. Kind of crowded but everyone was very polite.

Better views than I expected, but very rocky on the way out.

Rained hard. Was a blast. Wind really strong at top. Beautiful sights as rain ends

Although it was a “no pay” Saturday in Shenandoah, the crowds weren’t too bad, except for the Stony Man lookout itself but you would expect that! I did this one clockwise and barely saw a soul for the first 2 miles; there are some clearings that give nice views but it is mostly obstructed by foliage at this time of year. The Stony Man views, and those from the vistas nearby and below, are superb - today there were around 20 hawks putting on a show for us at the summit too! Not a lot of elevation change on this loop, but you can still get the heart rate up if you take the uphills at a faster pace. A rocky trail so defo bring boots.

Fun easy hike about 3.5 miles nice overlooks. Enter from left hand side of parking lot near rocks. Trail is a little confusing at beginning but this way the overlooks are at the end. First quarter mile is all rocks

Amazing vista especially at sunset, with a fairly short climb down afterwards!

Really nice loop trail. Lots of great views. Took about 2 hours to complete (was with my 10 y.o. and 14 y.o.). Arrived at about 12:30. No problem parking in the designated lot.
