The directions take you to Trailing Ivy Lane but we were told that someone owns the area at the ind of the road. There was a "No Trespassing" sign on a barrier across the road about 1.3 miles from the end of the road. We then tried to access the trail by going north on on Hopkins Gap road to Genoa (SR 817) and turned left onto a gravel road that is marked as a dotted line on the All Trails map. This goes past primitive camping and eventually ends close to the trail according to the map but the road is rough and long so we didn't pursue it. In other words we didn't get to walk the trail so have no opinion on it but couldn't reach it.

It is a loop if you go to end past Lake and up to Ridge. Ridge trail not well marked. turn left at top past the plastic sign in jar.
