Trail is rugged and overgrown during the summer season. Trail is an alternate route for the horse trail. Trail starts on the other side of the highway from the Henley Hollow parking area. Trail is rugged and follows a creek up into Iron Mountain and ends at the Horse Trail on the ridge top. You can do an 11 mile loop which connects this trail with the Highlands Horse Trail and Henley Hollow Trail.

This trail can be muddy and overgrown in the summer months. Trail follows a seasonal creek and sometimes becomes the creek. There are also a few creek crossings that you will encouter. You can connect this trail with the Virginia Highlands Horse Trail and Henley Hollow Trail to get a 11-12 mile loop
