Super easy and is basically a gravel trail that follows an fire road down to the falls. Nice walk in the forest and is only a little over a mile out and back. Park at the Lands Run parking area at Mile marker 9.2 on Skyline Drive. Be careful and drive slow. You may miss the lot. The wife and I hopscotched trails all day. We started on the South end at 8 in the morning. By 4 in the evening the Skyline drive was packed and parking became a big issue. The falls colors are all most gone and everybody knows it. We were in bumper to bumper traffic get off of Skyline and car were backed up out to US. 340 trying to get on. Go Early / Not Later !!

There is a very small (easy to miss) parking lot near mile 9 on Skyline Drive with minimal signage. The whole hike is on a fire road, so less scenic than other hikes in the park. It’s out and back (downhill on the way in and uphill on the way back). When we hiked this it was a nice leg stretch after a long drive, but the hike ends at a very small stream with a very small trickling cascade (not what you may think when you hear waterfall). It might be a better hike after a lot of rain. Walk is shaded and easy to do in sneakers.

This is a good family hike with nice forest views. The mostly gravel trail is wide and follows an old fire road down to the falls. Once there, you can take a well-worn path a short distance for a better view of the upper cascade. It is not spectacular, but it was pretty with the recent rain. There is a small parking area near mile 9 on Skyline Drive. The trail is not marked...look for the sign for the fire road.

This is a really nice short hike. We have two young children that hiked it with us and they had no problems getting around. There had been a lot of rain recently so the waterfall was really flowing! It's not too far from the Skyline entrance which is a plus if you don't want to spend all day on the drive. highly recommend this trail.

The waterfall was flowing today, and that made this short hike worth it. We tried this hike this past fall and were disappointed with the trickle.

We had an enjoyable out and back hike down a fire road to a small stream (Lands Run) to see a small cascade. This trail is also known as the Hickerson Hollow Trail. We parked at the Lands Run parking area (no restrooms) at MP 9.2 on Skyline Drive.
