Nice alternative to Burke Lake. Saw a few joggers and folks with dogs - not crowded at all. Paved trails, nice views, waterfowl. Very enjoyable.

Beautiful 5 miles loop around the lake. The walk is easy and on asphalt.

This is a great running trail! It’s perfect for the morning after a rain because it’s paved for most of it. Does go by some townhomes in one part, but overall it’s a nice way to spending a morning.

My favorite trail to run in Springfield. Less crowded than Burke lake and mostly paved. I like to connect both lakes (11mi), or after running Mercer, take the path up to Burke then turn around and come back to the south run parking lot (7mi). Great way to get good miles with pretty views.. and it’s much flatter than running through neighborhoods! I even saw a bald eagle circling the lake last week and got to “chase” a fox during my last mile of the loop.

Map on the trail is upside down in some places but other than that an excellent running trail!
