The most interesting run was when a beaver was swimming at the same pace as me.

Fun trail with our 6 & 10 year old kids. It's a busy trail but we still saw lots of water fowl, a bald eagle, and a few deer. The leg of the trail that takes you through a neighborhood is bit strange. Lots of trash though, especially at the edges of the lake. Definitely needs a clean up day.

Great trail but it gets a 3 star because of the high traffic. Still worth visiting but expect lots of people and bikes.

Nice trail which I used to walk when I was young. It's fun to see the lakefront halfway through the trail, too.

Great running trail that overs a lot of shade. you can also run several extending paths which will allow you to run more if you desire.

The trail is pretty around the lake and quite easy, but as you head in the direction of the park, you end up walking along some neighborhood roads, which is not ideal to me. I also hiked it in the rain so at the very end of it , the dam was over flowing and flooded the final little area so I could get back to my car. I had to divert and cross a few hundred feet of railroad tracks and then hop a fence to get back into the park. I couldn't find any other alternate route other than the option of hiking 4 miles back from where I came.

Easy trial. Kid and dog friendly. Nice small lake with paddle boats. During the summer there is a ice cream shack.

This trail is kind of bizarre, but in an interesting way. You start on the CCT, which is very flat and easy. When you get toward Lake Accotink and the marina, it is substantially busier because the lake is a popular picnic and party area. It's a good place to restock water or recharge a phone, but it does take you out of the quiet atmosphere a hike provides. Right after you leave the marina, you get to a dam and then you rejoin the Accotink Loop trail, which continues to hug the lake. Eventually, you get to Danbury Forest Court, which is a residential neighborhood. See what I mean by bizarre? Imagine wearing a hiking pack and muddy boots and popping out into a subdivision, with a school and playgrounds, and landscaping. From there, you walk through a residential neighborhood until you can re-connect with the Accotink Loop Trail and cross over back to the CCT to finish the loop.

I would definitely do this again, since there's a lot to like about the trail. I had not done this trail before, so it was a surprise to have to cut through a neighborhood.

Always one of my favorite places to run when I'm in the area. Trails are always in decent share and there's many connectors or places to extend the distance.

Great family setting. The view of the lake from the sand bar was amazing. There are tons of family friendly things to do. We had a BBQ kids and adults had a great time. Live in MD but will come back.

meh, Felt like I was going around in a carousel at kmart. After Fountainhead trails, and the views this was like an armature experience.

It was a good trail. I accidentally took a wrong turn along the way, so it took a little bit longer than anticipated. The trail has an amazing view. It is a wonderful Sunday walk or run. Be cognizant of the turns though, if you aren't paying attention you can easily end up where you didn't expect to be.

Great trail for suburban area. Not too challenging for 66 year old with some disability. Great views of nature--herons, egrets, bald eagle. Well maintained. Not busy weekdays.
