Iron Mountain Trail is a 12.3 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Damascus, Virginia that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

The trail is well marked, and not a bad hike. The mileage is more like 13.5. I marked 13 where the trail comes out in Damascus, but it is a residential area, and you will need to park in town - which adds about .5 miles to the hike.

nice trail for the whole family take your time ennoy the nature along the way dont be ready to set speed records enjoy this trail.

Trail was extremely rocky, harsh on the ankles. Also it seems to be more of a dirt biking trail now. Not much fun to hike, will stick to the AT in this area.
