Quick and easy! Steep on the way up but super short. 45 minutes total. Iron to upper to lower and back in the same order opposite side of the loop

Great trail, I loved the iron mines. The only difficulty is that it’s steep. Take your time, you can do it. There is a mine that can be viewed less than .25 miles up. Peaceful trip. There is a tree down but we managed to navigate it.

This review is for all three trails here that are pretty much all on top of each other: Stuart's Knob Trail, Whiskey Run Trail, and Iron Mine Trail. These trails are great, and I do all three of them whenever I come to this area. Their difficulty is predominantly easy with some occasional incline here and there. As this is part of Fairy Stone Park, there is always a $7 parking fee.

01-22-19: Peaceful, easy trail with signage making points of interest. This trail connects with others that make up the Stuart's Knob Trail System at Fairy Stone State Park. The Iron Mines were interesting to see. The trail is mainly switchbacks as you ascend Stuart's Knob. I will hike the trail again.

This is part of the Stuart's Knob Trail System in Fairy Stone State Park...not private property as listed here. This trail exceeded my expectations. There are several switchbacks with some elevation change for a short loop. You pass a couple old mine entrances (you need to take a short spur to get to one). The scenery is pretty, especially with some fall color remaining in the trees. There is also a very nice view looking down over the lake and the beach area. You can extend the hike by including the Stuart's Knob or Whiskey Run Trails, and there is plenty of room to park at the trailhead.

Trail was in good shape. Numerous switchbacks and views of several iron mines along the way. Traffic was nonexistent on the trail as we met no one else. Parking at trailhead was good. Overall it wasn't a bad trip.
