This hike is on the Virginia Peninsula Audubon hiking bundle, one of three hikes. Th duPont family established this preserve early on for birding as part of the Audubon Society. You will find the hike pretty easy, starting on boardwalk and leading through a pine forest with diverse birds. Finally at the beach, you can have a good lunch on the sand and enjoy the view of the bay. A great spot for Eagles, smaller birds such as cardinals, and hummingbirds can be found here.

Easy trail that leads to a sandy beach shoreline. the trail is clearly marked and appears to have been recently cut back. Great for a brisk walk or a nature trail run.

What a nice 2 mile trail and to top it off it ends at a beautiful beach! I’ve lived in this area my entire life and have never seen a beach/water that nice around here. Will definitely do again.

5 stars for Mrs. duPont's work for the Audubon Society! a tribute to herself and her families contributions to the preservation of America's natural places.
