Wonderful trail. Was just walking and saw a red fox.

Great warm winter day in Blacksburg. Started at the library and went through the route 460 underpass. Turned around and came back along southgate Drive. First outing of 2018. Many more to come. Saw a Carolina wren, cardinals, blue birds and a red tail hawk.

I hiked this trail from Blacksburg to Christiansburg. It has lots of hills and great scenery. VT, an abandoned mine, rock formations, etc. I loved it.

This trail has increased in length, more than 12.6 out and back due to upgrades and connections in 2014/2015. Takes you out of rural and has a much more urban feel towards Christiansburg when you end up behind Walmart, Home Depot and the local High School. Still a great, well maintained trail.

There were a lot of people out, but it was such a nice November day that it was no surprise.

This is my favorite place to ride bikes! The scenery is so beautiful the whole way! Some parts I have to get off and walk the bike but it's still great exercise!

I loved the trail for running. They are doing some construction right now so there were some muddy areas that weren't asphalt tops but other than that it was fantastic! I loved the elevation gains for running/training.

A great paved trail that links Blacksburg and Christiansburg.

Great trail for a run, walk, or a bike ride. There's access to a short single track loop trail that has some decent elevation gain and not too technical. Good for a mountain bike or a run.

This is not really a hiking trail, this is a paved walking trail from Blacksburg to Christiansburg. This is great to take your dog for a walk or if you want to go out for a jog, but do not expect a typical hiking trail. There are always dozens of people on it at a time, especially the closer you get to Blacksburg. Lots of bikers and moms pushing strollers.

Excellent trail from Christiansburg to Blacksburg that runs along an old rail bed. Originally 5.5 miles, the trail is in the process of being extended on the Christiansburg side. There is ample parking at the New River Valley Mall to start your journey. The trail is great for walkers, riders, children and pets.
