Elizabeth River Virginia Beach Trail is a 0.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Virginia Beach, Virginia that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round.
This trail isn't anywhere near Ghent or Norfolk. It's in Virginia beach. Says kayak and boat access but not true, maybe used to be but now now. You'd be dragging a kayak a long way to get to any water.
The trail when u first enter is beautiful. However after a cple minutes it's very unkept, you have a glimpse of the water from a nice size deck but that's about it. Walked in a circle on a small trail once you pass the deck, also unkept where you can see the backyards of surrounding homes.
Wonderful quiet place to sit on the water on the deck and read a book or enjoy peace and quiet but definitely not to 'hike'.
I went walking with my two dogs and they loved it. We parked at the tides stadium and started the trail right behind the bank there. We walked to the Pagoda restaurant along the water. Very clean and it would be stroller friendly. Brought us past the Spirit of Norfolk and the Nauticus.
Nice view, easy ride but the "trial" was not well marked and we ended up just riding around Ghent.
