I take my dog here often. There's a good mix of paved and dirt trails. Decent amount of shade, as well as nice places to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

Deep Run is a nice park with both paved and unpaved trails that you can walk/run. Lots of biking here too so always keep an eye out, especially on the offshoot paths. Some areas off the paved trail can be muddy or get washed out. Come here often and like the area, also has pond that can be fished.

Excellent little park I like going to on days I have a long lunch break. Problems: 1. you can see how much people in a city, even the outskirts of a city, litter. The creek has been manipulated by beavers so when it rains huge parts of the grounds nearby floods. And trash gets flushed out from everywhere and builds up with brush piles and such. I'm really not okay with that and pick up some every time I go down that way. 2. The county decided to sell a good portion of the park by the creek so almost half of that entire section was at once taped up/roped off with signs showing the new parcel that was purchased. Of course people said screw that. It's a public park. Ergo owned by the public. And the public did not consent to this. So all the roping and signage was torn down by visitors (I did not, btw.) But you can still hear construction down that way on most days. I'm assuming they're adding something for the apartment complex next door. It's really sad that there's fewer and fewer places of nature in this area every year and even worse that a good chunk of one that was actually accessible to the public is being developed as well. Positives: Since that little creek connects to several others and reservoirs that connect to the large Tuckahoe creek you can easily see a variety of animals in the park. I've seen snapping turtles, beavers, hawks, snakes, several species of lizards, and tons of chipmunks. Ducks and geese will occasionally visit too. I think it's probably for their sake that I'm most upset about the development. The trail network is massive for its location. I'd say AllTrails only has about half of it mapped (I will add to it later if I can figure out how.) Some of it is paved, some of it is rocky, some of it is dirt, and some of it is seasonally flooded. It's got some great variety. IME it's only super busy on super nice days or during the summer when it hasn't rained that day. People sometimes let their dogs off the leash and there are people and kids on bikes so even though it's a relatively small park remember to be aware of your surroundings, especially if you're with a dog or small child. And I'd suggest not letting your dog or child play in the creek. Like I said, there's trash (like parts of bikes ect) and sometimes snapping turtles in there. That being said the west side of the creek is alot cleaner and picturesque than the east side.

A good place to walk for 30-45 minutes. Usually busy and a lot of dogs but the main trails are kept up well and has wooded and lake walkways.

Towards the end, I had trouble finding my car. I wish Henrico Parks made maps of their walking/hiking trails for us navigationally-challenged folks.

Nice park with lots of multi-use trails for hikers, runners, road bikes, mountain bikes, baby carriages... trails are paved, crushed cinder, sand, dirt, and leaf covered. My only complaint is nothing is marked or organized. It would be nice to follow a marked trail rather than random hiking. Also park has lots of playgrounds, shelters, gazebos for families.

Enjoy the paved trail around two lakes. Many pavilions along the trail to take rests or picnics. Most of the trails are under the shades of trees, so not too warm even during sunshine. Friendly for everyone. Also suitable for running.

Park is a gem. For what and where it is it’s five stars. Paved main trail and unsaved off trails. There’s play areas for the kids and it looks like a large area for soccer or other sports. I spotted a grassy area that looks like putting green too! Large stocked pond and a stream that our digs love for cooling off. There’s grills, picnic tables, benches and restrooms throughout. What more could anyone want from a park??

I really enjoy this park; you can choose a dirt path in the woods or a paved trail. Minimal elevation, lots of shade, friendly people. It's only a 2.7 mile loop if you stay to the outside, and lots of inner trails that cut across here and there. Nothing is really marked but it's too small to get "lost" too badly.

I enjoy having a decent set of walking trails within a 5 minute drive from home. These make for a great Saturday or Sunday morning stroll far more interesting than a roadway walk.

Great urban park with some nice paved walking trails connecting different amenities in the park. You can get off on a number of dirt side trails but to make it a longer walk through the trees but be aware these are the trails that the mountain bikers and trail runners use. I had no issues but can imagine that it can get pretty busy on weekends.

A very well maintained trail with a lot of wildlife tracks as well as interesting water features such as creeks and two lakes. A person could take a simple stroll in the park or a walk through the woods or even take less trafficked routes to go exploring. I felt very safe. Well trafficked. Even in the snow there was no shortage of footprints on the trails.
