Easy, flat hike. After the rain there is some areas that are muddy/watery. Lots of mosquitoes.

I live down the road from this trail and love it for biking and running. One of the best 3mi loops I have been on. Tons of scenery and a variety of terrain (rocks, roots, flat plains, etc). I am here 3 times a week. Adequate parking, safe, and multiple trail routes. The outer loop is the 3mi one I am reviewing.

Beautiful foliage, nice that it is so close for a quick escape. Easy, shady trail, flat except for a few rocky areas. Mosquitos also enjoy the shade, so remember your bug spray in the summer months!

Bit too easy for hiking. Running would be good for more exercise. Trail is nice and wide.

Light foot and bike traffic during the week in the fall. The majority I would consider easy, but there's a section towards the back of the park that is more technical or moderate for bikers. Great spot for something quick when you're pressed for time.

Good little trail - fairly flat but traverses through some pretty woodlands. I have 4 stars instead of 5 because it has a decent amount of traffic, and you never fully escape the sounds of cars going by on the nearby roads.

Great if you’re strapped for time but need to be outdoors!

I would rate it as easy/accessible because of the length and lack of difficult terrain.

Very nice easy nature walk, would not rate it moderate at all, pretty flat, but nice, if you want a workout you'd better run

A nice walk into the woods, only a few spots where the trail is a bit rocky. Be on the lookout for bikers, on occasion they "sneak" up behind you and make you jump about 20 feet street up. Not to mention screaming like a little kid. (No this didn't just happen to me yesterday, 9/4/2017) :-) I do take the Orange trail as well, and make a stop by Little Bull run. Not much to see there, but a good place for a water and maybe a snack break.

Easy for kids. Need to be careful with the bikes coming through. Easy hike. Need to get early to find parking spots. Blue trail.

Pretty forest. Great work out if you're walking at a good pace. Nice trail although it gets very narrow in the back for a bit. A lot of mountain bikers use the trail which is fine because the majority were all courteous and nice.

Did the blue trail. Not sure why it is listed as moderate. We found it to be a easy-going well maintained trail.

Nice easy trail. Can have some muddy spots and since it’s also a horse trail watch out for manure along the trails.

nothing special here. good for a nice walk, or run. Bikes on this trail make it very muddy during and after rain storms. Good trail not difficult at all. well marked expect for one, but small enough you wont get lost.

nice trail. not difficult at all. mostly flat, with a small amount of minor uphills. portions of the trail are uneven terrain, but nothing difficult. just watch your step. parking lot is somewhat small, and I could see on a very nice day where spots would run out. overall, great trail. nice walk. pretty scenery. would definitely go again. dog friendly too!

Take the orange trail, it will lead you to the rock formations and its downhill. The blue trail is flat but a great hike. Watch for turkeys!

This is a nice trail -unexpected "wilderness" bounded by US29 and new development, touching Manassas Battlefield at one end. Favored by mountain bikers, local families with kids, sometimes you come across a horseback rider or two. Great find since dogs are still welcome (on leash). It gets muddy in the spring, but with full foliage in the summer it is lovely (and less noisy with 29 traffic).

the trail was great! minimal rocks on the actual trail so it was great for a run. however the rating was for moderate intensity, and I would have rated it low. There were no significant inclines. All in all it was a great trail!

Nice trail, Great Family Hike

Wednesday, December 28, 2016

Great for easy to moderate trail running. Not extremely technical but fun for beginners. 3 loops are approximately 10.82 miles. The 3.4 mile trail loop is not heavily used by hikers especially in late fall and winter. There are shorter hikes that will loop if take the yellow trail to the blue.
