Burke Lake via South Run District Park is a 7.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near South Run, Virginia that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and nature trips and is best used from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

This is a nice easy flat trail, probably called moderate because of the length. Most of it is paved. Lots of people but very relaxed. Bicyclists too but not too crazy. Something odd on the first trail sign after leaving the Rec Center, there is a trail sign where North points down rather than up. That could lead you in the wrong direction, to Lake Mercer, which also has a loop trail but is much shorter.
