Great!

This 4.8 mile trail was a good trail for a hiker like me. Majority of the trail is dirt with some area have tree roots sticking out. There's a part of the trail that is paved out with a side of flowers where you'll see bees and butterflies. You'll come some areas where you can get close to the shore. They seem to have five parking lots. The big one is the one close to the Fairfax Center with the golf course. Keep your ears open because cyclists sometimes won't let you it know when they're passing by you. The other parking lots are either close to a volleyball court, two playgrounds, and where you can take your canoe/ boat to go fishing. So remember where you park or you'll probably get lost trying to find where you parked your car. Bring lots of water because you'll definitely need to be hydrated on this trail. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Has stopping areas where you can do exercises like pullups, pushups, etc. There is a restroom. Other than that, it was a beautiful, yet, challenging trail for me since it's been 7 plus years since I've walked for this long. Overall, I enjoyed the trail:)

Nice trail around the whole lake. Cannot go in the lake unless you are fishing. Dogs also not allowed in lake. Still was a great hike close to the shore at times. Nice grassy areas in the park to have a picnic before or after your hike too.

nice trail... recommend wearing shoes with good support..... part of the trail you are walking over thick tree roots and running shoes may be too soft

Nice easy trail but definitely very highly trafficked. Most bikers did not properly announce themselves, and with the number of people on the trail, that got annoying quickly. Trail itself is marked well and the views of the lake are nice. Plenty of places to stop and fish or take a picnic break.

I come to Burke’s lake all the time. It’s usually pretty high trafficked. The trail itself is an easy 5 mile loop, great for running (about half is paved). The lake is beautiful and it’s a free entry on weekdays!

Great park and trail but very busy with too many inconsiderate cyclists for the walkers

Great trail for beginners. Get their early to avoid dirty looks from hikers/joggers. Trail itself is pretty flat but outside of the trail plenty of road to test your gears on. Lots of places to stop along the trail if you need a break or want to bring fishing gear along.

Lovely walk around the lake. I recommend parking not at the main entrance, but outside of the next entrance which is used normally for fishing. When you enter in that way and come to the water, take a right to get on the trail. You start with some amazing lake views right out of the gate.

When my daughter was very little we visited for the train and carousel. Later we frequently rode our bikes around the lake - always enjoyable. I have absolutely no complaint

The trail was perfect for today’s weather. The parking lot is currently closed with everything going on but there were dozens of people out and about today. Some were fishing or biking. Some parts of the trail were muddy from prior rain but nothing that you would need more than sneakers for. Overall the trail was easy, took about 1.5 hours to go around the entirety of the lake and stop to take photos.

Mostly of the trail is Nice and paved, you can take smaller trails close to the lake to make it a little bit more adventurous. It can get crowded on the weekends but you can also do kayaking and other boat activities on the lake. Nice lake.

A good trail to run if you’re wanting to get your miles in. A lot of people on the trail so space is limited when trying to pass by

Five mile hike to break in a new 40L pack. No one on trail. It was very quiet other than the wind. Lots of blow downs and mud, but better than being at work!
