There seems to be confusion and mis-marking of the trail in the app. After a first attempt where the app denoted we ended up bushwhacking and very lost. The actual trail has a parking lot is very well marked with a large sign. Lovely, well-maintained gravel trail with two overlooks. Very low traffic for its condition, great for a casual walk after work or for a small picnic. There is moderate elevation gain, but a bench halfway for a rest.

Nice shady, well-maintianed trail. Gravel most of the way. I have hiked it with a toddler on my back and with a 7 year old and did fine. Views from the top are ok, not great. A few benches, nice opportunity to stop and have lunch. About 22 minutes round trip if you don't stop at the top. Not really a trail you would seek out but worth it if you are in the area or passing by. Good view of McAfee Knob from the top.

Nice quick trail good elevation gains for a short hike. Seems to have been some fire damage there, but growth is returning. Someone has been working on the trail by installing erosion barriers. Nicely done and seems to help. Gravel and hard packed surfaces all the way. Teaser pavement at very beginning that ends a short distance later. A nice quiet trail with a reward vista atop. Take it in, thanks to whoever manages this little gem.

This is no longer a trail and should be considered closed. Overgrown and unmaintained, it requires routefinding skills and is not for beginners. No trailhead parking and in fact it is difficult to even find the trail since nearby property owners have attempted to mask it by covering it with brush. I gave this 2 stars only because it allowed me to practice bushwhacking.

Great trail with 2 beautiful overlooks. Quick easy trail for kids..a little rocky at times but 7-9 year olds had a great time!

It was a nice way to end our day of hiking. Total trip about a half an hour. Views were nice. You can see similar views in the overlooks but makes it worth it when you hike to see it!

This is a short and easy trail (with some elevation gain) that leads to lookouts in two different directions. Most of the overlooks along the Blue Ridge Parkway have nicer views. But if you want something that makes you at least work a little bit for it, this is a good place to stop. Use the tracks to locate it or just look for it at MP 123.2.

As I have found with other hikes here, it was not accurate with getting me there. Hike itself was pretty short and easy. All uphill in and all downhill out. Nice quick hike. Best when there are no leaves.

The Buck Mountain Trail is located at MP 123.2 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's a short (1 mile round trip) hike to the overlook at the summit. There's not much of a view, but it's a good leg stretcher if you are traveling the Parkway and need a break.

If you want a short quick hike then you've found it. Starts in the parking lot and works its way uphill. The top has a couple of benches to sit and picnic or just stare off into the woods with a little bit of a view. The path has some crushed gravel at the begining then turns to dirt.
