A mostly easy trail for all abilities. There can be some muddy/icy spots but it’s navigable. This loop is a connection of many trails to create a loop all the way around the lake so just be conscious of that. Your blazes will change colors a lot.

Trail includes a section completely on the park main road. Beautiful day I had the trail all to myself.

This names loop is actually three separate trails (according to the park trail map) - part Channel Cat Loop, Lakeside , and part of the Lost Barr Loop. Lakeside can get wet but zigs through fun lowlands at the head of the lake. Don't suggest shortcuts through this area. All of it pretty flat. Beavers are moving back into the park - they were felling trees and storing up branches for food. On the west side of the lake you just keep going along the lake and come out onto Rt 629 to cross the dam.

Awesome hike. However there was a point where we got to a bridge over some water & I decided to get in the stream, leading me to fall into some quicksand. Would not recommend getting in the water. Overall 9/10 hike good times with friends & good lake views & wonderful beaver shavings on trees

Great easy loop around the lake. Follows the lake the entire time. No real inclines, dogs are welcome. Had a wonderful afternoon fall hike

I did not do the whole loop. My recording is all over the place. Don’t trust it. LOL

Very nice, fairly level trail that loops around the lake. You will travel on several different park trails and even some on the road as you loop around the lake.

Water was too high to take the lake loop. Had fun on Catfish trail.

Heavy shade with minimum roots and rocks on the trail - would hike again!

Turned back after 3/4 mile due to overgrown, marshy path with high grass and bad bug harassment even with bug spray. Limited views of lake on first section and walked through lots of spider webs. Humid day with lower temps (76). Positives: Not busy and it was an easy hike with a well marked trail. Recommend long pants, hat and bug spray.

Great trail! Easy hiking, well maintained, dog friendly, and clearly marked. Friendly and helpful park rangers at the entrance. Very low traffic. We didn’t pass any other hikers on our mid-morning hike, which is nice with social distancing guidelines.

Pretty views. Bridge still out, and think its ofd that at the end we had to go in the road? TONS of ticks. But - always like being near water, and still getting the forest feel.

HikingBridge out

Nice hike, especially deeper into the woods. Had to follow the app closely as you’ll cross over and into many different trails. Bridge is very much out at one point (I posted a pic) but you can take a muddy detour, and another large section full of deep mud mid-way. but it’s a hike, so.... Lots of wildflowers, toads, and skinks. We didn’t pass anyone on a beautiful Monday afternoon and barely anyone in the parking lot.

Nice hike. Hard to find trail head at first but then we did. A few places got turned around but followed the app closely and made it. It marked us as 4.1 miles.

Great trail but bridge is out. they have a flagged detour. NOT wheelchair friendly!! Lots of roots and you have to step across rocks to cross the creek.
