Walk along the beach while spotting for Eagles! Many beautiful birds in this national wildlife refuge make it a great hike. This hike is done in a loop configuration. With an easy length, and flatness - it makes this an easy hike to complete. There is a shelter at point 6 in case you bring a packed lunch. It also makes for a nice quiet lunch on the beach, although swimming is prohibited. This is an uncrowded area and generally only a few people can be seen on this trail. Follow up your hike at the visitor center for other attractions in the area.
This was an nice easy trail. Did it with three kids (ages 9 and 11) and the dog. No one complained and I enjoyed it. The wooded part of the trail is really nice as well as the views of the water.
Took a family walk along the Beach & Bay Trail. So peaceful, great stress reducer from life in WDC. So lovely, just a bit heavy in seaweed.
5 stars for the beautiful birds :-)
