Well groomed lightly traffic section of the AT with enough elevation gain to make it seem like a moderate workout. No vistas, but good birding and bear habitat along the way.

It is an okay walking trail. No overlook and not a lot to offer for a hike. I didn’t like that you have to cross two streets and have to walk through a parking lot to get to the “overlook”. Will not be doing this again, but it is done.

3.2 mi section hike Hogback- Jeremy’s Run/Elkwallow picnic area. AT SOBO, downhill!!

We only did about 2 miles from Hogback, but the scenery was lovely and only a handful of people were around. Some of the ferns were five feet tall, and they carpeted much of the forest floor.
