First part of hike is a good workout since it's all uphill to Buzzard Rock. Then a nice leisurely stroll back downhill to the parking area.

HikingGreat!

Great hike! When I went there was snow all the way up deeper as you went up in elevation. On the ridge going up to the rocks the snow was well over my knees and I am 6'2. I'm sure it was mostly drift but still made the last half a mile or so extremely slow moving. But the snow made for beautiful views. The only downside was at around the 1.75mile point I couldn't find any trail blazes. They could have been snowed over not sure. But I guessed and found my way up. After comparing my route off my garmin and the map on here I stayed spot on the AT!

Beautiful and breathtaking hike! Think my garmin had us at about 5 miles total. Lots of snow and some ice so I recommend hiking/water resistant boots. The path was well demarcated and well kept. I think the snow slowed down our pace a bit but still did it in under 3 hours. So excited we stumbled onto this hike!

Wife and I did this hike a few weeks ago and took a friend yesterday. it was a different world. About 3-4 inches of snow at the trailhead reached about 15" or more near the summit. Beautiful rime ice formation on the trees and shrubs, great views from the top. Took us much longer to trek up this time, but it was worth it.

Beautiful summit and great training hike because of steepness of climb. Great trail for all ages.

Rainy day, but still a great hike. Be sure to explore rocks facing opposite direction (just off the AT) for some awesome views and fun natural seating formations.

HikingGreat!

Beautiful trail well maintained and grand view at the end. Easy to access and good but small parking lot. Weather swooped in and added on two layers at the exposed buzzard rock peak.

Hiked this four days ago. Good trail. A couple of down trees across the trail and some briars encroaching as you transition booms from woods to grasses. Easy to follow. Great views of foliage and wildlife along the way if you don’t watch your feet. Slick areas when rainy. Fantastic views at the top! Great breeze, too!

Nice moderate trail, more mature wood, so clear of undergrowth. Spring in full bloom all around with great views at the top. Open bald at the top that connnects to Elk Garden Trail to White top. If you have little kids watch them on the rocks up top.
